Annual Meeting and Board of Director Results

The Annual Meeting of Crystal Valley was held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the cooperative’s main office in Mankato, MN.

Chairman Gene Meyer reviewed highlights from fiscal year 2024 and recognized retiring director Tom Trahms, thanking him for his 20-years of dedicated service on the Crystal Valley Board of Directors. Dennis Gardiner of Gardiner + Company, presented the fiscal year 2024 financial audit report.

Chairman Meyer announced the results of the mail-in ballots for the following business items: 1) approval of the minutes of the January 31, 2024, Annual Meeting; 2) acceptance of the FY2024 Financial Audit Report; and 3) election of three directors to the Crystal Valley Board of Directors.

There were 336 ballots received resulting in the approval of the January 31, 2024, Annual Meeting minutes and acceptance of the FY2024 Financial Audit Report.

The director election results were as follows: nominee Adam Jones of Lake Crystal received 160 votes, incumbent Dean Sonnabend of Vernon Center received 186 votes, nominee Ryan Brandts of St. James received 170 votes, incumbent Scott Fisher of Trimont received 178 votes, nominee Thomas Sandt received 132 votes, and nominee William Eggimann received 154 votes. Dean Sonnabend, Scott Fisher, and Ryan Brandts were elected to serve three-year terms.

The board held a reorganization meeting following the annual meeting. The directors elected Gene Meyer as Chairman, Tim Lewer as Vice Chairman, and Dean Sonnabend as Secretary for the coming year.
