Crystal Valley is pleased to announce Matt Schoper has been named as Vice President of Agronomy.
Crystal Valley and United Farmers Cooperative Merger Study Update
The boards of directors of Crystal Valley and United Farmers Cooperative met together on Wednesday, May 31, to evaluate the findings of the merger study of our two companies. After thorough consideration and much discussion, the decision was made to NOT proceed with a member vote on the merger at this time.
Introducing Crystal Valley Intern Class of 2023
We have a new group of summer interns starting at Crystal Valley! Every year we select around 10 college students to gain experience and help with our summer operations. This year we have selected students from South Dakota State University, South Central College, Iowa State University, and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Compeer Financial Group Tours Trimont Feed Mill
On Wednesday, May 8th, Crystal Valley had the pleasure of hosting a group from Compeer Financial. The Distributed Council is a leadership development group with members from the Midwest, including Illinois, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Crystal Valley and United Farmers Cooperative Merger Study Update
At a recent joint meeting of the two boards of directors, it was decided to complete the merger study and due diligence process after spring’s work and plan for patron informational meetings and a potential vote in early summer.

Crystal Valley partners with Land O’ Lakes, Inc. and Midco on broadband connectivity project benefiting Hope, MN and surrounding area
Crystal Valley has partnered with Land O’Lakes, Inc. and Midco to expand broadband internet access to Hope, MN residents and the surrounding community. Midco installed high-speed broadband technology on a grain elevator in Hope at Crystal Valley’s location, improving access to broadband connectivity.

Crystal Valley announced a collaboration with Land O’Lakes, Inc., and internet service provider Midco to expand broadband internet access to Madelia, MN residents, and the surrounding community. Midco has installed high-speed broadband technology on one tower in the Madelia area at Crystal Valley’s Madelia location, improving access to broadband connectivity.

Dan Trullinger Scholarship Recipient 2022
Kade Wassman, a Sales Agronomist Intern, was awarded the 2022 Dan Trullinger Scholarship this summer. This $2,000 scholarship is given to a Crystal Valley intern in memory of Dan Trullinger, a former Crystal Valley agronomist. He was a great mentor to his interns and took pride in watching them develop their Agronomic skills.
South Central Electric Helps Crystal Valley Secure $1,000,000 Loan for Trimont Feed Mill
South Central Electric was granted a $1,000,000 USDA Rural Economic Development Loan for the Crystal Valley Cooperative feed mill project in Trimont. The zero% interest loan will be used by Crystal Valley for feed mill equipment
Kyle Leary Selected into the National Grain and Feed Association’s Committee Apprentice Program (CAP)
In March, Kyle Leary - Grain Marketer, Hope, was among 40 selected to be on the National Grain and Feed Association’s Committee Apprentice Program (CAP). The CAP is designed to develop future leaders within the grain and feed industry by allowing early-career professionals to sit on an NGFA committee.

Grain Bin Accident Claims Life
On Thursday, June 16, a grain bin incident involving an employee occurred at Crystal Valley Cooperative in Hope, MN. The Hope location will be closed on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Crystal Valley is proud to welcome Ben Buie as Crystal Valley’s Vice President of Grain. He brings over 26 years of experience in grain and will provide leadership and accountability for the overall performance of Crystal Valley’s Grain Division.
Minnesota State Students Visit Ziegler Farms
On April 18th, the Precision Ag team members spent an evening sharing their insight on precision agriculture with Minnesota State University freshman and sophomores. Students were part of the honors program and have been learning about how farmers today are stewarding the land and caring for animals in the agriculture industry in class.
