Grain Policies 2019

By Kyle Leary - Grain Marketer

Crystal Valley’s Grain Division has made a few changes to our policies to better serve our customers and to open more opportunities.

The first change is with issuing checks/ACH payments.  Instead of waiting for a customer to request a check, now a check will be mailed or ACH made as soon as each contract is filled.  Any overrun will be applied to the next contract and if there isn’t another contract the overrun will be applied to delayed pricing.  If you do not want a check issued, please call your local office or grain marketer prior to hauling and let them know.

The second change we have made is with our open storage program.  With the CME raising storage rates this fall from $0.05/month to $0.07/month, we have done the same.  Corn or beans put on open storage will now be charged $0.07/month.  Bushels put on Delayed Pricing will still be at the old rate of $0.05/month.  There are no minimums and storage rates are prorated by the day.

Reminder to let them know at the scale what you want done with the bushels (contract, spot, delayed price, etc.).  If you do not say and there is no contract, the bushels will go 10 days before storage charges start.  If the bushels have not been sold within the 10 days, they will be applied to delayed pricing with the storage cost starting from the day they were hauled in.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
