Lakefield Grain Elevator Operations

By Roger Kienholz - Chief Executive Officer

Commencing on December 1, 2018, Crystal Valley will operate the Lakefield Grain Elevator on an appointment-only basis.  Crystal Valley will still purchase grain year-round but will have limited delivery hours into Lakefield during the non-harvest months.

Please note that this change is for Grain only and does NOT affect the business hours of operation at the Agronomy/Energy location in Lakefield.

To deliver grain into Lakefield, please call the Jackson office (507-847-4160) and talk to Megan Tusa (Grain Marketing) or Rick Olson (Grain Operations) to schedule a time that works best and we will make accommodations to be open.

As a reminder, we do offer on-farm pick up services that can help alleviate any inconvenience this may cause to your operation.

We are making these changes due to the reduced harvest bushel handle over the last two years, our inability to dry corn at this location any longer, and the minimal grain receipts during the off-season.

Crystal Valley’s board and management are evaluating the sustainability of our continued operation of the Lakefield elevator and are considering the potential sale of the facility.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this change in grain operations may cause our patrons.

If you have any questions regarding the changes, please feel free to contact myself, Roger Kienholz (507-726-6455) or Jeff Spence, Vice President of Grain, at 507-726-2051.
